Lincolnshire - inclusion
Lincolnshire: Inclusion project
The NCMA Inclusive Childminding Service provided in Lincolnshire
aims to offer a flexible, responsive and personalised childminding
service, which reflects the needs of children, parents and
carers with special education needs and disabilities.
The service we manage
With 36 referrals in the last quarter the scheme provides an
Inclusive Childminding Service to children who have specific needs
in a cost effective way whilst providing specialised high quality
care.
The scheme also works in partnership with parents and other
specialist organisations providing a more joined up and personal
service. The benefits to children and their families include:
- the feeling of inclusion rather than exclusion
- more childcare choice for parents
- flexible, personalised, responsive childcare with a specialist
childminder
- reassurance for the parents that the registered childminder
understands their child’s individual needs
- consistency and small group care and learning
opportunities.
Childminders involved in ‘Inclusive Childminder’ can:
- take advantage of a new career development pathway
- gain greater confidence and job satisfaction
- access specialist training opportunities
- be recognised and respected as a skilled professional
- work in partnership with other specialists
- have ongoing support.
