Change4Life with LazyTown

LazyTown and Change4LifeChange4Life has partnered with LazyTown, the popular TV programme for 2- to 5-year-olds, to encourage them to be more active and eat healthier food.

The lead character, Sportacus, is a great role model for young children. He loves to eat fruit and vegetables and is always active, rather than sitting around indoors.

Eating well and being active can help prevent children from developing serious illnesses later in life and the latest physical activity guidelines state that once a child can walk they should be physically active for at least 180 minutes a day.

New Change4Life activity packs for groups and for parents have been produced. They are being distributed to all Sure Start Centres and feature LazyTown characters showing ideas for fun and games and healthy recipes.

The group pack includes a prize draw to win a visit from Sportacus. The parents pack includes a prize draw to win a weekend at Butlins.

The materials can be ordered free from the Department of Health Orderline or downloaded at http://www.nhs.uk/c4lLazyTown.
