Enhancing self-belief
Sam Page, a registered childminder from Lewes talks about
how she encourages children’s aspirations in her setting:
"I care for a little boy who has wanted to be a Firefighter
since the age of 2, and a little girl who wants to be a Teacher,
‘just like her mummy!’
"My role is all about giving children self-belief and confidence
with support and guidance. I plan activities and experiences to
enhance their individual personal development and praise and
recognise achievements on a daily basis."
National Childminding Week runs from 4-11
June. This year’s theme is Aspiration, and during the week NCMA
will be highlighting the great work registered childminders and
nannies do in helping children to consider their future
aspirations.
The week will also celebrate the aspirations
of registered childminders and nannies in increasing their
professional development and future career opportunities.
