Big Give Bake-athon
Big Give challenge 2011
Help FSID fund research at Great Ormond Street and get
your donation doubled!
Each year in the UK 300 families are left without a reason for
the sudden and unexpected death of their baby.
The Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths (FSID) has been
chosen as one of the beneficiaries of the Big Give Challenge. All
donations made to FSID online at http://www.thebiggive.org.uk
during the week beginning 5th December will be matched, doubling
their value. For example, a gift of £10 would result in FSID
actually receiving £20.
The charity is aiming to raise £62,000 online during
these five days. When doubled, that could generate up to
£124,000 to fund a ground-breaking research project at Great Ormond
Street Hospital. This study will investigate whether
infection is the cause of some cot-deaths.
This work will have impact not just in the UK but also
inform wider understanding of the causes of Sudden Infant
Death Syndrome (SIDS) across the world.
Getting involved
One way to get involved is with the Big Give Bake-athon. Cook up
some tasty treats in your setting as part of FSID's 2011
Big Give Challenge. Every penny raised will go towards the new
research project at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Organising a Big Give Bake-athon is a wonderful way to start the
festive season and support FSID. Your party can be as big or as
small as you like and you can hold your event any time between now
and 9 December. Just remember that all donations must be paid in
between 5-9 December online at www.thebiggive.org.uk/donate/fsid to
be doubled as part of the Big Give Challenge.
To register your Bake-athon or for more information contact the
FSID fundraising team on 020 7802 3201 or email fundraising@fsid.org.uk.
