Nanny membership t&cs

1. The period for this promotion is 1 April 2011 to 31 March 2012 ("the incentive period").  The incentive period may be extended or withdrawn sooner at the sole discretion of the National Childminding Association ("NCMA").

2. To be eligible for this promotion, you must be eligible for nanny membership of NCMA (“Nanny Membership”) in accordance with our terms and conditions of membership (the “Membership Terms and Conditions”).  As you will see from the Membership Terms and Conditions, to be eligible for Nanny Membership you must be nanny or home childcarer, being a person aged 18 or over who cares for children (aged from birth to 17 years) in their own home; or for children of no more than two families, wholly or mainly at the home of one or both families at any one time, such as a nanny share.

(If a person cares for the children of three or more families at any one time, the law says they are no longer a home childcarer but a childminder, which affects your ability to become a Nanny Member and to be eligible for this promotion.)

3. The Membership Terms and Conditions further require that to be eligible for Nanny Membership, the applicant must be registered on the Voluntary part of the Ofsted Childcare Register in England, or the Childcare Approval Scheme in Wales.

4. To be eligible for this promotion, you must also be eligible to take out nanny public liability insurance by or via NCMA (“Nanny Insurance”). Please refer to the separate terms and conditions which relate to such insurance (the “Insurance Terms and Conditions”). A registration number for the Voluntary part of the Ofsted Childcare Register in England, or the Childcare Approval Scheme in Wales must be provided to NCMA in order to be eligible for Nanny Insurance.

5. This promotion is open only to new Nanny Members of NCMA, who join by taking annual Nanny Membership in accordance with the Membership Terms and Conditions and Nanny Insurance in accordance with the Insurance Terms and Conditions.

6. The new member must not have been an NCMA member (of any type) at any time during the eleven calendar months prior to the date of joining.

7. As set out in the Insurance Terms and Conditions, your Nanny Insurance cannot be used as cover for childminding and the insurance policy cannot be transferred from one membership category to another.

8. The procedure for taking part in this promotion is as follows:

  • The new member must apply for Nanny Membership by calling 0845 880 0044, and subsequently be admitted as a Nanny Member.
  • The new member must also simultaneously take out Nanny Insurance.
  • The application must be made no later than 17:30 on 31 March 2012.

9. If you take part in this promotion you will receive one year’s Nanny Membership and one year’s Nanny Insurance for the total sum of £59.99 (plus VAT where applicable), which is a discount on the usual price.

10. The discount on Nanny Membership fees and Nanny Insurance fees to which a Nanny Member becomes entitled under this promotion is only valid for the first year’s fees, and the entitlement arises upon joining. The discount cannot be transferred to any other person, used as a discount on any alternative products or services provided by or through NCMA, or exchanged for cash. Your discount cannot be combined with any other incentive, discount or promotion.

11. NCMA reserves the right to change and/or withdraw this promotion at any time.

12. These terms and conditions apply only to the incentive discount promotion. The Membership Terms and Conditions will govern your membership of NCMA and the Insurance Terms and Conditions will govern your insurance. In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between these terms and conditions and the Membership Terms and Conditions and/or the Insurance Terms and Conditions, the Membership Terms and Conditions or the Insurance Terms and Conditions (as appropriate) shall apply.
