CRB and children's centres
Some NCMA members have been in touch to say that they are being
asked by children's centre staff for a copy of their CRB disclosure
before being allowed into the centres. Others have said that some
children's centres are rejecting any disclosures made more than
three years ago.
It is not a requirement of children’s centres
to check childminders’ CRB disclosures, however it may be that
children’s centres are applying the terms of Sure Start’s guidance
to childminders and making them subject to local requirements for
third party workers.
To help clarify the situation for childminders
and children's centres, NCMA has pulled together advice from Ofsted
and Sure Start. You can download the briefing sheet
here (pdf, 42kb).
NCMA also produces a range of factsheets for members. Visit the
My NCMA Members Area for
