National Policy Forum
NCMA’s National Policy Forum (NPF) is
responsible for advising NCMA’s Board on childcare policy
issues.
The NPF is made up entirely of NCMA childcarer members and
includes two representatives from each of NCMA’s membership regions
and Wales, plus NCMA’s
Chair.
Any NCMA member can put themselves forward for nomination
as their region's representative on the NPF. Representatives
are then voted in at their Annual Regional Meeting, usually
held in May each year. These NPF representatives are responsible
for sharing NCMA members’ views on childcare policy issues with the
Association.
To help NPF representatives gather as many views from members as
possible, three Regional Forums are held in each NCMA region and
Wales each year.
Any NCMA member can attend these Regional Forums and they are a
chance for members to discuss important childcare topics.
The region’s NPF members attend these Regional Forums to listen
to the discussions and then take the region’s views back to the
National Policy Forum meetings. At these national meetings the NPF
representatives:
- share the views and opinions of their regional members.
- bring forward issues raised locally to establish whether they
are affecting childminders and nannies nationally.
- agree recommendations for NCMA’s Board.
