Manifesto Cymru
NCMA Cymru has
launched a manifesto for quality home-based childcare ahead of the
National Assembly for Wales elections in May.
The manifesto highlights the positive role that home-based
childcare - provided by childminders and nannies - can play in
supporting children, their families and the wider community in
Wales.
The manifesto launch, held at the Senedd
building (the Home of the National Assembly), saw Susanna Dawson
NCMA chair, and Richard Jones, acting Director NCMA Cymru, tell
those gathered of the role home-based childcare can play in meeting
the needs of children, their families and communities.
Nerys Evans, Assembly Member for Mid and West
Wales, said that childcare was vitally important in tackling child
poverty and that the next government should do all it can to
support registered childminders and nannies.
Susanna and Nerys also awarded prizes to the
best pictures drawn by minded children prior to and at the event,
which were then displayed for everyone to see.
